Are your teeth yellowed or stained? If you yearn for a smile that you can show off with pride, look into teeth whitening.

Am I a good candidate for teeth whitening?
In a general sense, those with all adult teeth and good dental health are candidates for teeth whitening procedures. Teeth whitening works especially well for those with yellowish teeth. If you have brownish or grayish stains on your teeth, keep in mind that they may not whiten as well. Those with tender or receding gums may not be good candidates for teeth whitening, as they would be sensitive to the bleaching product. Also, be aware that dental restorations like fillings and crowns will not whiten like natural teeth. Dr. Martin Ortiz can examine your teeth and let you know whether or not teeth whitening is for you.

What should I expect during in-office teeth whitening?
If you choose in-office whitening, the bleaching product is applied directly to your teeth. Results can be seen in just one, 30- to 60-minute bleaching treatment. However, keep in mind that you may need to undergo several whitening treatments to reach desired results.

What if I choose take-home teeth whitening?
If you choose to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your home, our dentist will take an impression of your teeth so that a mouthguard can be custom made. The tray is worn with the provided whitening product as instructed. Typically, the whitening tray is worn for several hours each day or during the night for up to four weeks.
